Five new custom built computers have been added to the current ten in the music room giving pupils better access to a better recording, mastering and score-writing experience. The computers and keyboards are connected via a USB audio midi interface (TEAC corp. Tascam US-122mk2). This is connected to a Yamaha PSR-295 keyboard which allows for a highly flexible solution thus enriching the student learning experience. The college uses Sibelius 6 which is a powerful score-writing software, this was chosen as it is industry standard and is favoured by specialists worldwide. Another installed programme called Photoscore lite is used for creating electronic musical notation from images of scanned music notation. Audioscore is also installed which can take a piece of music and automatically create a music score from it.
